USAC General Representative #1

Hi everyone! My name is Nicole Corona Diaz, thank you so much for your interest in the USAC General Representative 1 Office. In this office, we will center our work around social change, community involvement, and activism. We are looking to work with anyone who shares our determination to be the voice of the student movement in our student government and make UCLA a sanctuary campus for ALL immigrants. This office is independent of the administration. It is a space for students to grow, to find their voices, and to take a proactive approach to bringing institutional change to this campus. You may be asking yourself, why is this Gen Rep office straying from the usual “platform- oriented” structure? USAC has the potential to be more than a bureaucratic institution of bylaws and deadlines.We will implement platforms, we will put on events, but we aren’t merely going to do “office” work. Our office will go beyond lobbying, it will be a center for active resistance. If you want to join a student-led civil rights movement, then you are in the right place and our office welcomes you.
