Bruin Linguists Society

Bruin Linguists (BLing) is the undergraduate linguistics society at UCLA. Our purpose? • To further educate majors and non-majors alike about Linguistics • To encourage undergraduate involvement in academia • To unite the students of the Linguistics Department • To improve communication between students and faculty • To make students aware of the opportunities present for people interested in the field Some things you can expect: • Exciting talks by professors from UCLA (& beyond) about the latest in ling/language-related research • Info about the graduate school life, as told by actual grad students • Know first-hand about studying abroad, internships, and career opportunities available • Opportunities for study groups/tutoring sessions for Ling courses (ling20, phonology, syntax, etc.) • A chance to meet like-minded individuals through the help of various social activities and events (movie nights, field trips, and other things not necessarily ling related)
