Steve Tisch BrainSPORT Volunteer Club
At the UCLA Steve Tisch BrainSPORT Program, our goal is to establish the world’s most advanced diagnostic and treatment program for athletes who have suffered concussions as well as non-sports related head injuries. We are the leaders in concussion care and education, that’s why we have created the nation’s first Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Program that will train the world’s best physicians to treat sport concussions in young athletes. The Tisch BrainSPORT Program focuses on the following areas: Sports concussion: Raising public awareness about sports concussions Prevention: Developing programs to reduce concussion risk Outreach: Conducting communitywide concussion awareness and education programs Research: Advancing the understanding of sports concussions Treatment: Offering the latest treatments to young athletes and their families Our Concussion Clinic is one of few in the country fully staffed by a multidisciplinary team of neurologists and neuropsychologists. We treat many types of patients including those who sustained a non-sports related concussion, children up to 25 years of age, collegiate and professional athletes.
