Inspiral - Envisioned Student Ventures

UCLA draws students from all walks of life – each with unique inspirations and aspirations. Some bring ideas, others bring ambitions, for a project of their vision of how the world should be. But the gap between conceptualization and actualization is filled with obstacles; a gap widened by UCLA’s quick academic pace, resume-building requirements, and “real-world” pressures. Inspiral formed around the goal of creating an environment where students feel welcome to pursue their own goals, irrespective of these obstacles. We provide a weekly physical space to work in, guest speakers for guidance, and event opportunities to encourage discussion between students of any focus and any curiosity. To further support these students, we provide “microgrants” to help reduce the financial obstacles of personal projects. But most importantly, we push for student confidence in individual efforts and the understanding that we are not alone in our pursuits.
