Association of Innovative Science & Technology

The Association of Innovative Science & Technology (AIST) will promote professional and social interaction among undergraduates interested in technology, specifically computer science. AIST wants to foster community for a department that currently is quite segmented. It can be hard to befriend other CS majors in a meaningful way. Our weekly forums to talk about what's next in tech and on-going projects will hopefully build this gap in a more welcoming atmosphere than what exists today (ACM competitions and sporadic meetings in groups). We will offer a unique social/alumni network specific to UCLA CS undergraduate students, something that other schools have that puts them at an advantage over us Bruins. This will allow the small community of computer scientists at the school to have a reference in a wide breadth of industries. We will partner with corporate sponsors to entice people to build this network.
