Hearts of Mercy at UCLA

Hearts of Mercy at UCLA aims to promote awareness of the global refugee crisis and provide opportunities for refugee communities both locally and nationally. To promote awareness, we will hold awareness events throughout the year, including a Refugee Awareness Week during spring quarter in collaboration with other international aid organizations. To provide opportunities for refugees, we will fundraise for the Refugee Students Scholarship Fund under Access California Services, which builds opportunities for refugee students who have been accepted to the University of California System, and work with local relief organizations in tutoring and assisting incoming refugee families. We will also aim to provide members with a comprehensive understanding of the refugee crisis and channels through which they can make a difference.
