Organization of African-American Students Excelling in STEM
The purpose of OASES is to provide academic, professional and personal support and guidance to African-American students in the STEM fields. Our goals are to promote greater retention rates, increase student diversity, and maximize the opportunities and achievement potential of students at UCLA and beyond. We aim to achieve these goals through building a community amongst students, faculty and alumni through facilitating social and professional events. The world is larger than you realize. UCLA is a big place. Here at OASES we want to make it smaller through building a community, and providing a means for students to take advantage of this environment and moment in time.
