Linguistic Landscape Research Group
The Linguistic Landscape Research Group at UCLA is a multidisciplinary student organization dedicated to the research of language on signs in the urban, public space. It spans across various fields such as Sociolinguistics, Language Policy and Planning, Geography, Urban Planning, Culture Studies, Translation Studies, and Language Attitudes. We have monthly meetings to discuss projects, present research, and collaborate on new studies. We also work together to invite guest speakers. The main aim of the group is to create a discussion forum about how written language is used in particular areas.
