Law Students in Balance

The Law Students in Balance group teaches law students various strategies for dealing with everyday stress, balancing their personal and student/professional lives, and preparing themselves for the stressful lifestyle that often accompanies the legal profession. The goal of the organization is to teach important skills that are not typically addressed as part of the law school curriculum, yet are highly useful in law students’ coursework, the legal profession, and in leading a balanced life as a student and lawyer. Law Students in Balance offers an innovative approach to the problem of law students’ stress: It is based on the findings of the science of well-being incorporating positive psychology and introducing the practice of various forms of meditation and stress-releasing techniques. The workshops organized by Law Students in Balance may be instrumental in both preventing and managing stress and anxiety among UCLA law students.
